Quebec City

Last summer, we stopped through Quebec City for a night on our way from Baxter State Park to the Saguenay Fjord.  We were so struck by the city's charm, beauty, and food.  I immediately knew I wanted to come back for a longer visit and thought my parents would love it.

While we were in the DR after Christmas, Cally mentioned that she didn't understand why Grandma and Bumpa were taking us on a trip for their anniversary and questioned why we weren't taking them on a trip.  So, we decided to make it happen.

Fortunately, Aunt Nif and cousin Will decided to join us, as well.  I did a bunch of research about "kid friendly" activities and restaurants and we did a lot.  The first night, we ate at a Creperie

Crepes at Le Billet
So glad that Bumpa and Grandma made it!
Cousins!
Just one of the amazing plantings

You know you are on vacation when you have a beer for lunch
Getting a different view of the city on a boat tour

Heading out for dinner at Bello (a great Italian restaurant)

Busy, quiet kids letting parents sip their wine and eat delicious food
More kissing cousins

Exploring the Plains of Abraham
Biking on the Plains of Abraham
Visiting the Quebec Aquarieum

Who knew there were walrus shows?

Petting skates and rays
Heading to Le Bouche for a fun local Quebec Meal-- including rabbit and escargo
The worlds biggest lemonade
more biking
Beautiful flowers
Seriously steep walking
Playing Hansel and Gretel at the Costume Workshop of the Museum of Civilization

What a blast!  I would recommend a visit to Quebec City to anyone!

Last Day of School

 \
I can't believe Cally is done with kindergarten! I was lucky enough to be able to come home and meet her at the bus with Zephy on her last day of school.  The smile on her face was priceless!

First stop was a pool party at the DeJong's house.  Cal learned how to jump off the diving board.

And we celebrated Christine's birthday the next night at the Mahoney's.

It feels so good to be on summer vacation!  I still have a bunch of days to put in before the summer really begins, but being free of the early morning routine is the best part of all!

And here's how we spent the first week of summer vacation:

Swimming lessons at Maple street pool
Dancing or swimming lessons?
Playing on the best playground ever!

Track practice

Summer Cut

Lunch buddies (at our secret spot)
